Why we build for the browser

Two of our products do their work on your device. Here is why we prefer it that way.

WebRemoveBG removes image backgrounds with a model that runs in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded. Letter Studio builds its PDFs the same way.

That choice has costs. We have to fit useful models and layout engines into a web page and make them fast on ordinary laptops. It also gives us things a server can't: privacy by default, no upload wait, and no per-image fees to pass on.

When the work can happen on the user's device, we let it. It is a simple rule, and it has shaped most of what we build.
