ABOUT THE ROLE & MISSION

At NVYLO, product management is not about writing bureaucratic slide decks or sitting in meetings all day. It is about understanding what problems are genuinely worth solving, collaborating closely with engineers and designers, and delivering intuitive, robust software into real users' hands. As an Associate Product Manager Intern, you will work directly alongside our founders and lead engineers on products like Letter Studio (our tactile writing platform), ServeMe (our high-traffic restaurant operating platform used across active dining venues), and client engineering projects. You will talk to real customers, draft crisp feature specs, run sprint planning in Linear, and participate in shipping software in your first two weeks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Conduct qualitative user research and interviews with diners, restaurant managers, and digital writers to uncover pain points and feature needs.
Translate raw user feedback and strategic product goals into clear, concise Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and actionable user stories in Linear.
Partner daily with founding engineers and UI/UX designers to define scope, prioritize backlogs, and run sprint planning.
Analyze product telemetry, funnel completion rates, and adoption metrics to make data-backed recommendations for iteration.
Lead release acceptance testing (UAT) alongside the QA team to ensure every shipped build meets our craft and usability standards before public deployment.
Write transparent release notes, customer changelogs, and onboarding documentation for new product capabilities.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical product experience).
Demonstrable obsession with software design, typography, and intuitive user experiences — you notice micro-interactions and usability friction immediately.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break complex, ambiguous user problems into structured, phased technical deliverables.
Exceptional written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with modern product management and design workflows (e.g., Linear, GitHub, Figma, Notion).
Self-directed work ethic: you don't wait for permission to research a bug or prototype a solution.

ABOUT THE ROLE & MISSION

At NVYLO, Quality Assurance is not an afterthought or a late checklist right before shipping — it is a foundational engineering discipline. Our users depend on zero-latency dining POS systems, real-time kitchen display screens, client-side rendering engines, and edge APIs. As a QA Engineer, you will establish quality standards, build comprehensive test matrices, conduct thorough exploratory testing, and engineer automated test suites that safeguard our production environments. You will work closely with frontend, backend, and product teams to detect regressions early and ensure our software feels rock-solid under every edge condition.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Author, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test matrices, and exploratory charters for web applications and mobile web interfaces.
Perform thorough manual exploratory and functional testing across modern desktop and mobile browsers (Chromium, WebKit, Gecko, iOS Safari, Android Chrome).
Design, build, and maintain automated End-to-End (E2E) and component test suites using Playwright, Cypress, or Vitest integrated into CI/CD workflows.
Validate API endpoints, payload validation schemas, WebSocket real-time event sync, and webhook callbacks using Postman, Bruno, or curl.
Investigate and file reproducible bug reports in Linear with clear reproduction steps, network request payloads, console traces, and video captures.
Test edge cases including flaky network conditions, offline queuing, high concurrency, and rapid user inputs.
Act as the quality gatekeeper for staging releases and lead pre-production sanity and smoke test cycles.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

1–3 years of professional experience in manual and automated quality assurance for modern web applications and APIs (or demonstrably strong project portfolio).
Solid understanding of web platform fundamentals: DOM structure, CSS layouts, HTTP status codes, cookies, local storage, and browser DevTools (Network, Console, Application).
Hands-on experience with modern test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Puppeteer) with TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
Proficiency in REST API testing, JSON data inspection, and API testing suites (Postman, Bruno, or Swagger/OpenAPI).
Acute eye for visual discrepancies, responsive layout breaks, and subtle UX flaws across device screen resolutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Execute structured manual test suites and functional test scenarios for upcoming feature releases.
Perform cross-device and cross-browser exploratory testing across iPhones, Android phones, iPads, MacBooks, and Windows laptops.
Document clear, reproducible bug reports with screenshots, screen recordings, environment details, and step-by-step reproduction instructions.

Absolutely. Many of our best team members joined while completing their degrees. We offer flexible hybrid schedules that accommodate exams, lectures, and academic deadlines.

Where is the NVYLO office located, and is remote work permitted?

Our studio is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We operate on a flexible hybrid model — team members usually spend 2 days in the studio for collaborative sprint planning and work remotely for the rest of the week.

What is the typical duration and conversion path for internships?
